Wear Painted Nails is an Unacceptable Act of Gay Propaganda... to Swedes?

To wear nail polish in rainbow colors is an unacceptable act of gay propaganda. That is not the opinion of the Russians... but the Swedes.

Emma Green Tregaro, the Swedish high jumper who painted her fingernails in rainbow colors to support gay rights at the World Championships in Moscow, has took the field with a bright red in her nails this time.

Green Tregaro said the Swedish officials of track and field federation asked her to "please respect the rules" and change the color of her nails because that rainbow gesture could be a violation of the competition's code of conduct. For this reason, she decided to paint them in an intense red color, the color of love.

After Green Tregaro's incident, the head of Sweden’s Olympic Committee, Stefan Lindeberg, has ruled that political protests against Russia’s anti-gay legislation will not be tolerated at the Sochi Olympics next year.

Seriously, is the nails color ruled in any competition's code of conduct? And do all Swedish people think such as their official?

  1. The Swedish Olympic Committee does not differ from any other national Olympic Committee, they are all cowards that are held tightly in leash by the IOC.

I should think that the message from the IOC to the national committees has been loud and clear "don't rock the boat". The IOC has deemed - and at least told the Swedish national committee - that the painting of nails are signaling a political view or position, and such manifestations re not allowed in the Olympic charter.

Ok so we know Stephen is a homophobic slut, just as the Olympic committee to insist it be held in homophobic Russia still.
This is more of a reason why all GLBT athletes, fans&sympathizers should boycott the Olympics.
Yes you give up a gold medal, but do you want that medal in disgrace, or would you rather a medal no one can take away, a medal of pride, and a medal of self respect?

She can't paint her own nails the way she wants to express herself..but I.C.O can't guarantee protection for the athletes who are gay and lesbian.

  4. You can feel the protest coming -- as various members of Olympic teams, straight or gay or whatever, decide to hold hands with the members of their same sex during the parade of nations under national flags at the opening of the Sochi Olympics. Kissing is not necessary, and if rainbow colors will not be allowed, then our supporters can hold hands. Enough people are annoyed right now to not give a damn if they are ejected -- and if enough athletes decide to do this, they will not be able to punish anyone specifically.

One more thing -- the only nation which does not dip it's flag to heads of state during the Parade of Nations is the USA. This has nothing to do with the Olympics (despite legend), U.S. Protocol states "The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing, unless it is the ensign responding to a salute from a ship of a foreign nation.". Although it seems conceited, I am happy the U.S. Flag did not dip for Hitler in 1936, and I am happy it will not dip for Putin next year. The sight of this happening would make me sick.
