The first gay weddings could take place in Scotland this autumn, after Scottish Parliament has legalized same-sex marriage today.
The Holyrood Parliament has passed easily the same-sex marriage bill by 105 to 18 votes in favour of marriage equality.
In Scotland, same-sex couples had the option to enter into civil partnerships, but the new law allows gay marriages and it's an important step for LGBT rights equality.
Remember that first same-sex weddings in England and Wales will take place from 29 March, in the wake of legislation already passed by the Westminster parliament last year.
Except North-Ireland, the same-sex marriage is legal in UK.

Congrats Scotland!
